Post-Treatment Care for Facial Botox

General Guidelines

  1. You may gently wash your face, apply makeup, and shower on the same day. There is no required downtime, so you can resume daily activities as tolerated.

  2. Mild bruising may occur, usually fading within 7 to 10 days. Apply bruise cream promptly, and use warm compresses after 2 days to support healing.

  3. Minor needle marks may be visible but usually fade within 3 days, depending on individual skin response.

Wrinkles

  1. The effects of Botox typically begin to appear within 2 to 3 days following treatment, with the most noticeable results usually seen around day 7.

  2. As the size and strength of wrinkle-related muscles vary from person to person, individual responses to treatment may differ. Mild asymmetry between the left and right sides of the face is possible.

  3. If noticeable asymmetry occurs, a minor touch-up procedure may be recommended. Should you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact our clinic for further evaluation.

Jawline · Masseter Muscle · Cheeks

  1. You may notice a slight decrease in chewing strength as your muscles adjust. This is temporary and typically resolves within two weeks.

  2. We recommend avoiding chewing gum or tough, chewy foods during the healing period, as they may stimulate the muscles and diminish the treatment's effectiveness.

Botox Diffusion Gap Response

  1. Within 7 to 14 days after the procedure, you may notice a Botox Diffusion Gap Response, where the treated muscle appears more prominent when chewing.

  2. This response is more common in individuals with larger muscles or those with longer intervals between treatments. It occurs because Botox takes time to settle in and take full effect throughout the muscle.

  3. In most cases, the response resolves within two weeks. However, if the muscle is significantly large, it may persist. In such cases, an additional treatment may be recommended.
